Many Business Extra members are looking for ways to support small businesses and make an impact in their communities or around the world. Members can now gift points to nonprofit organizations and, for a limited time, to fellow Business Extra members who have requested support.
Together, we can make a difference. To do our part, we're giving 500,000 points to small businesses and nonprofits to reduce travel expenses, including 250,000 points to minority-owned businesses and 250,000 points to organizations that seek to improve stability, health and care for global citizens in need through the airline's Our Social Good program.
Additionally, American will match up to an additional 500,000 points based on member contributions through July 31, 2020, for a total of up to 1 million points awarded by the airline. Your generous contributions will help support these organizations' future travel needs.

Applying for points
To support small businesses with future travel needs, we're giving 250,000 points to minority-owned businesses and 250,000 points to nonprofit organizations benefiting from the Our Social Good program. Additionally, American will match up to an additional 500,000 based on member gifts through July 31, 2020, for a total gift of up to 1 million points. American will award up to one million Business Extra points by giving 500,000 points initially and matching up to an additional 500,000 points. For every qualifying point gifted by Business Extra members through this Point Gifting program before July 31st, 2020, American will award 1 additional point to the same nonprofit or Business Extra member fund, up to a maximum of 500,000 points matched.
Transactions are nonrefundable, nonreversible and non-exchangeable. Using the Point Gifting program, each Business Extra member may gift points to support American-selected nonprofit organizations and/or other Business Extra member companies. The minimum gift amount is 100 points. The points successfully transferred usually post to the designated account right away, but please allow up to 2 business days for processing. A confirmation email will be sent to primary donor using the email address(es) associated with the Business Extra account(s) and any additional email address provided.
Gifting of points under this program transfers points from your account to either a fund of points for nonprofit organizations or Business Extra member companies chosen by American, depending on your submission. American will provide points from such fund to such organizations and Business Extra members at its sole and exclusive discretion and on such timing as it deems appropriate.
American offers for gifting points to eligible nonprofits or other Business Extra members may vary and are subject to change by American without notice to you. Your gift is not tax deductible.
By completing and submitting the Point Gifting program form, you acknowledge and accept the Terms and Conditions stated herein, as such Terms and Conditions may change, from time to time. As a Member, you acknowledge and accept that the use of Business Extra points are subject to the rules, regulations, terms and conditions of the Business Extra program, published from time-to-time, and available at Terms and Conditions. Business Extra program rules, regulations, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
American Airlines reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve or disapprove the participation of any Business Extra member in the Business Extra program's Point Gifting programs.

In the event of any points discrepancy, calculations shall be based upon data maintained by American or its agent.
The Business Extra points received through the Point Gifting program, will not expire for two years after granted to recipients, provided the organization receiving points remains in good standing with American.
